With some internet research; it seems that new 2018 Mazda CX-5 will have an exterior somewhat similar to the China-based CX 4 and CX-9 models. But the frontal part gets large new bumpers for a large intake of air. Its rear view glasses have been mated with repeaters. The five-pointed grille present in the previous model has been refreshed- the horizontal bars have been switched with black mesh.

Some slimmer headlights will be seen in the grille. Some characteristic lines of the CX-9 model are also seen.One line comes from the topmost side of the frontal fender and ends at the back wheel while the other line items from the middle portion of the back door and extends a right to its uppermost part of taillight frame.

Some grandeur curves and aerodynamic characteristics will also be noted and all the lights will host a dynamic structure.Fenders and hood will also be noticed in a new form. Important safety features such as collision notifying systems, cameras, traction regulator etc. will all get a makeover. Other standard features of the outgoing model will be retained.

The 2018 Mazda CX-5 also offers passengers more space for stowing. A state of the art electronic parking brake will be seen included. Talks are that the model is expected to get a new smartphone integration system and also the incorporation of new Bose audio systems is likely to take place. There was a belief that 2018 Mazda CX-5 model could use SkyActiv-2 launched by the next-gen SkyActiv technology. But Mazda automotive house has stated that would not be a part in this time around. But it could be a possible inclusion in next model year. With accumulated evidence, this 2018 model will have a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with an ability of 150 lb-ft of torque and 155 hp of power.

Another option was per speculations is I-4 2.5-liter engine with 185 lb-ft of torque and 184 hp of power. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed auto gearbox. The fuel economy of the engine is still unclear and is expected to be more than its previous 35 mpg.
