2018 BMW X3 Release Date, Interior

The 2018 BMW X3 is rumored to release by the end of 2017 or at the beginning of 2018. While it was being tested, some spy shots leaked out revealing its model type. The revealed instrument panel shows a heady mix of analog and digital gauges like those in BMW 5-series. But it is still under the curtains whether the same will be available in all the trims or only in upper trim models.

It can definitely be said that 2018 BMW X3 can give a tough competition to all luxurious compact SUVs in this price range with its outstanding expected specifications. The weight of this vehicle is said to be estimated at 220.5 lbs, and the latest sophisticated interiors will be an addition to its weight.

2018 BMW X3 – Exterior and Interior Design

The rear of this model is pretty compact with a narrow glass (window) that highlights its rear design. Its interior is said to get an improvement in several aspects like that in the controls and entertainment system, seats and in a cabin. It is also said to include some upgrades in climate control units and that in heated seats.

Experts have also predicted to have some fabric cladding along the lower dash and doors that will disguise the fine details. The seats are designed for better ergonomics and can be folded to a greater extent. The folding will be used to carry cargos.

CLAR is also known as the Cluster Architecture. Also, 2018 X3 is expected to incorporate this platform. It is said to adopt this built-in technology from its upper variant BMW X5. It is expected to be equipped with a 2.0-liter petrol engine with 248 hp along with a 96 hp power from an electric motor. Maximum torque will be an impressive output of about 516 lb-ft. Its driving range in E-mode will be range from 25 – 30 miles.

2018 BMW X3 – Engine Specs

There are no official confirmations about the engine specification, but it can be estimated that the next-gen 2018 BMW X3 compact SUV is powered by a 3.0-liter petrol engine. It is promised to give a torque performance of around 342 lb-ft and a power of about 268 hp.

Other Expected Specifications:

• It will incorporate a turbocharged four and six cylinder engine that is going to directly inject the gasoline and also includes a diesel variant


• It consists of a manual 6-speed gearbox or a 9-speed automatic gearbox


• The base models have got the sDrive feature that allows rear wheel drive while the upper trims have the xDrive feature that has included an all-wheel drive.


• The M version performs with the likes of an output over 350 hp from a V6 turbocharged gasoline engine.

It is also rumored that the technological functions will be almost the same as that of the previous ones, mainly focused towards the convenience of the driver.
