Porsche has been talking about expanding their Macan line starting with 2017 Porsche Macan. This is a sporty SUV that is expected to do very well in the market that seems to want more SUV than any other type of car. Porsche is a reputable company known for producing high performance luxurious cars.
2017 Porsche Macan – A lot of New Features
The Macan model has be around for a while now and the 2017 model is not expected to look too different from its predecessor. The exterior design follows the sports philosophy that all Porsche cars follow, small, light and aerodynamically designed. The exterior façade is expected to be as attractive with a broad and distinctive hood, suggesting there is something more impressive underneath the hood. The 2017 Porsche Macan is fitted with LED Headlight system that includes headlights with low or high beam and the famous Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus which uses a camera installed in the mirror to recognize light sources of traffic so that the car can make automatic adjustments to its own lighting which will The car will also have a grille with air intakes that enhance the performance. Some models will be fitted with side blades that come in two distinct colors, Carbon Black or Lava Black.
The interior design is a bit snug on the driver’s side and the interior is generally not as big as you would find in most SUVs. The leather-upholstered seats are comfortable. The rest of the finishes are a combination of Alcantra and leather finishes along the door through to the dash and console. The front console has a 4.8-inch touch screen monitor with high resolutions. It makes accessing the audio and navigation system easier. The standard model will features like a new generation Porsche Communication manager with HD radio, AppleCar Play, Wi-Fi hot-spot, traffic info and a navigation module. The console also allows a closer interaction with important features that include a reinforced, cabin, Traction control and ABS brakes, airbags as well as electronic stability control. There are features that come standard with all Porsche models like ParkAssist with a rear and front camera, lane departure warning and the Porsche Communication Management with SiriusXM.
2017 Porsche Macan – Engine and Performance
The car comes as an all wheel drive with a 3.0-liter V6 engine that delivers 360 horsepower at 369 lb-ft of torque, this engine is intended for Macan GTS model . The engine will be mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission. The Macan can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6 seconds. The Macan S will have an engine a capacity of 3.0 liters V6 with 340 hp and 339 lb-ft of torque. Macan Turbo will have a capacity of 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that will generate 400 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque.
Equipped with the Porsche Chrono package the Macan has a top speed of 142 mph. Porsche hasn’t revealed how fast the Macan gets up to 60 when it’s not equipped with the Sport Chrono package. It has a start/ stop system that can help keep your mileage and fuel levels in check. The standard 2017 Porsche Macan has an efficiency of 20 mpg in the city and 25 mpg.
2017 Porsche Macan – Release Date and Base Price
The 2017 Porsche Macan is expected to be release during the second quarter of 2016 and will be priced from $54,000 for the basic design and $75,000 for the Macan Turbo.
